Our Policies

Welcome to Las Vegas Fencing Academy! We’re excited to have you join our community. This Membership Agreement outlines our policies regarding billing, equipment, membership holds, and refunds. Please read the following carefully.

1. Billing Policy

  • Autopay Enrollment: All members will be automatically enrolled in autopay, which will process payments via debit/credit card or ACH (Automated Clearing House).
  • Cancellation Policy: To cancel your membership, a two-week notice before the next billing date is required. Cancellations must be submitted via text message to 702-930-9039 or emailed to lvfencingacademy@gmail.com. Verbal cancellation requests are not accepted.
  • Re-registration Fee: If a member leaves and decides to rejoin the club, a $50 re-registration fee will apply.

2. Equipment Policy

  • Personal Equipment Requirement: All students are required to have their own fencing masks (helmets), gloves, and fencing jackets within two weeks of joining. The total cost for this equipment is approximately $150-$300. We are available to assist with measurements and purchases. Please speak with one of our coaches for help.
  • Equipment Rental: We offer equipment rental for a two-week period following your initial joining. After this period, rental of equipment will incur a
    non-refundable fee of $50 per month.

3. Membership Hold Policy

  • Membership Pause: Members can request a pause in their membership for up to 12 weeks for a fee of $50. Requests for membership holds must be made via text or email only.
    Billing Resumption: Billing will automatically resume after the agreed-upon membership pause period unless a written intent to terminate membership is provided to the club within two weeks of the hold ending.
    Medical Holds: If a membership pause is needed for medical reasons, a letter from a physician must be submitted to our membership services.

4. Refund Policy

  • No Refunds: Refunds will not be offered under any circumstances.
  • Financial Disputes: Any financial disputes and credits will be reviewed and handled on a case-by-case basis.

5. Indemnification

  • Indemnity: By agreeing to this Membership Agreement, you agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Las Vegas Fencing Academy, its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses, including but not limited to attorney’s fees, arising out of or in connection with disputes related to your membership.

6. Arbitration

  • Dispute Resolution: Any disputes or claims arising out of or relating to this Membership Agreement, including any disputes related to billing, payment, or financial transactions, shall be resolved through binding arbitration. The arbitration shall be conducted in Clark County, Nevada.
  • Arbitration Award: The arbitration award shall be final and binding on all parties. Judgment on the arbitration award may be entered in any court having jurisdiction thereof.

7. Code of Conduct LVFA Athlete’s Pledge

As a Member of the Team, I hereby promise and agree that I:

  • Sportsmanship: Have acted and will act in a sportsmanlike manner consistent with the spirit of fair play and responsible conduct.
  • Performance: Will refrain from conduct detracting from my ability or that of my teammates to attain peak performance.
  • Respect: Will respect members of my Team, other teams, spectators, and officials, and engage in no form of discriminatory behavior or verbal, physical, or sexual harassment or abuse.
  • Rules Compliance: Will follow my Team’s rules, including by way of example, rules regarding listing LVFA as primary club, dress code, and tournament preparation.
  • Media Consent: Agree to be filmed and photographed by LVFA photographer(s) and equipment (e.g., CoachesEye, WebCam, etc.).
  • Likeness Use: Agree that my likeness can be used on the LVFA website, social media, etc.
  • Online Conduct: Will not author, forward, or post offensive notes, texts, photographs, or other content online that reflects negatively on me, my team, or conflicts with the spirit or intent of this Code of Conduct. Whenever possible, I will discourage others from posting vulgar or offensive notes, texts, or photographs of similar content online that could be deemed unflattering or damaging to my, or others’, reputation.
  • Respect and Honor: Will act in a way that will bring respect and honor to myself, my teammates, and the club.
    Ambassadorship: Will conduct myself as an ambassador for my sport, my team, and my club.
  • Competitive Readiness: If a competitive member, will maintain a level of fitness and competitive readiness that will permit me to compete safely and track my training using coaches’ track reports.
  • Disciplinary Action: Understand that disciplinary action for violation of any provision in this Code of Conduct may include any or all of the following: (i) a verbal or written reprimand; (ii) suspension from the Club; (iii) removal from the Club; or (iv) any combination of the foregoing.
  • Parental Conduct: If I am a parent, will act calmly and reasonably at all times, even in the heat of competition or in disagreement with coaches.
